Legendary Los Angeles Lakers and NBA Hall of Fame player Jerry West joined by his family members and friends during the ceremony to unveiling of a bronze statue of West in Star Plaza at Staplers Center in Los Angeles, Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011. As a tribute to legendary Lakers player, Coach and General Manager whose career with the organization spanned 40 years (1960-2000), the Los Angeles Lakers, Staples Center and AEG organizations commissioned the creation of a 1,500 lb., nearly 14' bronze statue with granite pedestal of the NBA Hall of Fame member.
