Panda Cub, Xiao Liwu, Turns One Year Old in San Diego Zoo

Giant panda cub, Xiao Liwu with his mom, Bai Yun, enjoy the cake at his first birthday celebration on July 29, 2013 at the San Diego Zoo, California. . Zoo staff create an elaborate cake for the young cub made of ice, bamboo and some of his favorite fruits, and keepers also provide other enrichment items including boxes wrapped as gifts. Giant pandas are on a research loan to the San Diego Zoo from the People’s Republic of China.
